I still weigh 349 pounds people! In the following photos I'm 450ish.

I can see it in peoples eyes when I tell them I have lost almost 100 lbs...
HOW FAT WERE YOU BEFORE?!

The picture to the left was of me and my little boy at Columbia CA just before we got on the stage coach.
I could see the horses get a little panicky when they saw me waddling towards the coach.
I'm still fat...just LESS fat.

The picture to the right is of my sweet wife Sage and I on our anniversary. We traveled from Temple to Temple (we are LDS) worshiping God and sweating profusely while walking from the parking lot.
I think they should have size ratings on the changing stalls in the locker rooms there also.
Its hard to squeeze your butt into a cubicle that is smaller than your pants. I felt like I was on minute to win it.

Announcer: OK the object of this game is to not pass out while trying to squeeze your gut into an outfit that will make you resemble a snowman! You have 20 seconds GO!

The third photo is of my sweetheart and I getting ready to board the Heber Creeper.
The train was once called the "Heber Hotrod" but had to change it's name to "Creeper" after hauling my butt all over the mountains.

Watch the video after this and remember these photos to give you perspective.
Remember; I'm still fat...just LESS fat.

Here is another video update. It's been a while since my surgery and things are going so well for me. I am truly blessed.

11 days out postop

This video is a little dated being filmed around June 15th. It's now July 9th. I will say it is from Jet lag, but we all know it is from butt lag. I couldn't get my butt in gear to do it. I have lost a chunk of weight since the video and had some other experiences on my weight loss journey that may be beneficial to some out there. I will try to get a video made and get it up here soon. I think you will enjoy the angle this video is shot at as it predominately displays my huge stomach and the aqua colored car cover I have on.

This is a video we shot in the hospital waiting in our room to come to the hotel. One thing we are learning from all of the new friends we have gained on this journey is that each experience is different. We all came out of surgery in different ways, I didn't handle the anesthesia well and what should have been a 3 hour procedure with recovery became a 6 hour process. Well I am out and feeling well. I am a little bloated but cant complain. I am thinking of creating an email address just for people who have questions to contact me and ask any questions they want, but for now I will just keep going with the videos.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly...Sticking to the pre op diet

The pre-operation diet is a necessary EVIL!  Actually it isn't that bad you dump a few pounds to get the ball rolling and get your insides easier to deal with. It's totally worth it.
People always say;" why don't you just stay on the diet to loose the weight?"  I like to answer this way; "That would be easy if  use the Safeway method." "What's the Safeway method", they always ask. "Well you just take the S out of safe and the F out of way", I say.
After they think about it they say;"There is no F in way?!"
THAT'S RIGHT DIPSTICK THERE IS NO F IN WAY I'M STAYING ON THIS DIET!!!!
Any more questions? No? Good.

What to expect, when you are expecting...to go to Mexico.

This a little video about the passport process. You will need this if you decide to go abroad for medical care.

My first video about my gastric sleeve adventure.

We're going to Mexico!!!!

It's not exactly what you think. Yes we are going to Mexico, but no it's not for a vacation. I have decided to get the gastric sleeve surgery and because of the cost, and insurance not paying anything, we are going to Mexico. The decision was a daunting one on has not been made with out considerable study and prayer.

Anytime I tell anyone what I'm doing they always ask; Are you worried about going to Mexico? My answer is no. There are alot of cities right her in the the good ol USA that have a higher crime rate than Tijuana.
The crime that is reported on the news from Mexico is always the most salacious kind. Drug dealers are killing one another not fat Americans getting surgery. The following are the top 5 reasons I am not worried about going to Mexico:

1. Logistically kidnapping a 400 pound american is a nightmare. How many banditos does it take to carry someone that big?

2. People going to Mexico for surgery are not rich. That's why we are going to Mexico for medical care! We have no ransom money!

3. You can't kidnap and then force a 400 pound person to mule drugs over the border.
First of all we are really easy to spot from the air and secondly the sweat trail is too easily tracked through the desert.
* I have heard there are less reputable companies than the one I am going through. These companies bring you across the border into Mexico and then load the fatties up with bails of weed. Then a coyote drops you off in the Arizona desert to find your way back.  With this method you start out a large white person and emerge on the other side of the border a small brown person. Kind of like Biggest loser meets Survivor man.

4. The hospital we are going to has a driver meet you in San Diego and then they  bring you across the border to the hospital. Trying to hide 6 fatties in the truck of a Monte Carlo through customs is also good for sweating out at least another 5 pounds of water weight each.

5. The final reason I am not worried about going to Mexico is...Sara Palin can see it from her house!

All kidding aside I am excited for the opportunity I have to go and get the life changing surgery. I have every confidence in the Doctors and Staff of Mi doctor hospital where I am getting the procedure done. I want to help anyone else out there that may be considering this type of procedure to see the steps from A to Z in getting it done in Mexico. Thousands of Americans go to Mexico every year to obtain treatment for a myriad of problems they can't afford to get fixed in the U.S.
I am making a series of short videos to walk people through my experience and hopefully give them courage and a little information that they need to make such a big decision. The videos will also serve to keep my family in far off places informed on the experience and my progress.
For the rest of you looky loos, looking for a cheap laugh,  I am just trying to get as many fat jokes in before I loose too much weight and have to turn in my fat card and forever loose my right to poke fun.
